1) Meditation
This form of mental discipline is an excellent way to encourage a positive mind frame, while also keeping you in sync with your body. From simple breathing techniques to intense mantras, the benefits of meditation are becoming rapidly more recognised so all the more reason to give it a go! There are many meditation options that work: Simply research options and choose the one that you feel most drawn to.

2) Reading
If you enjoy reading, relax your body and stimulate the mind with a good book of your choice. If you’re not much of a reader try recommendations from a friend or some online reviews to trigger your interest.

3) Indulge in a bubble bath
It may sound simple but the combination of the hot water and steam can be naturally relaxing and can feel wonderful after a particularly stressful day. Make it that extra bit special by using lavish products from time to time such as bath salts, lotions and candles: whatever you most like.

4) Light exercise
Any type of physical activity that increases your heart rate is important when keeping fit, but engaging in a more gentle activity a couple of times a week can be all you need to obtain a healthy balance and to be more relaxed. Try walking once a day or taking up a yoga class in order to focus your energies on an exercise that connects body and mind, without exerting your body to  something overly strenuous.

5) Snack healthily
We all know eating well is a key component in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Be sure to indulge in foods that are high in fibre but low in added sugars in order to keep you going throughout the day to be sure of avoiding sugar come-downs which can make you lethargic and irritable. Always strive to keep hydrated throughout the day. Water is the best drink for health. If you need to mix it up: Green teas are naturally rich in antioxidants and are a good way to detox and cleanse the palette.

6) Spa days
As many know, treating yourself to a relaxing therapy or two is often soothing, both physically and mentally. However, certain treatments combined with the likes of steam rooms and saunas are particularly useful in helping to detox and recharge a weary body; leading to a sense of rejuvenation all round!

7) Engage your senses
Believe it or not, your sense of smell is a powerful thing. Certain blends of essential oils are often believed to have powerful detoxing effects, while investing in some incense or scented candles can be useful as many often act as mood enhancers. Aromas such as lavender and ylang ylang are widely recognised for their feel-good properties, so give them a try and use complementary relaxing scents that work best for you.
